The
Devon Archaeological Society
The Devon Archaeological Society was founded in 1928 as the
Devon Archaeological Exploration Society, with an initial
membership, by the end of its first year, of some three hundred
people. Today it is a thriving and friendly Society with a
membership in excess of eight hundred people, the majority
of them living in the West Country, but others from all over
Britain and abroad.

Theatre Company
You
may have seen some of our performances so you will know that
we have our own theatre and have been in existence for over
50 years, although we have only had the Theatre in operation
since 1988. As a company we need many members to take an active
roll in the many different aspects of the smooth and successful
running of our theatre.

Film Club
Torbay
Film Club is a not-for-profit group showing the finest independent
and world cinema, in Torbay. Films are shown monthly, are
open to members and non-members. Screenings are very sociable
events with many having a drink and a chat about the film
after the film. The films we show are voted for democratically
by the committee and members and include a mixture of English
language, subtitled, classic, factual and animated films
as well as an evening of shorts.

The
Torbay Police Choir was formed in 1972 to raise money for
local charities, and in its 30 years has assisted in raising
of over £200,000 for worthy causes in England and Europe,
a fact of which the choir is very proud.

Woodturners Club (The)
The
TORBAY WOODTURNERS CLUB are a friendly group who meet each
month. We regularly hold demonstrations, usually with TWO
lathes set up and like to encourage our members to have a
go themselves. There are also professional demonstrations
as well as some social events going on. Our age range and
skill levels are very varied and anyone with an interest for
Woodturning in or around the Torbay area will be most welcome.

TDFAS
is a local society for those interested in any aspect of the
decorative and fine arts such as architecture, painting,or
ceramics. It is a member society of NADFAS, the National Association
